For me, my trip to Europe was not complete without witnessing the horrors of Oświęcim (Auschwitz). When you consider the millions upon millions of innocent Jews, Christians, etc., that were murdered there, and then factor in HOW they were killed, there really is no other place in human history that can compare.
The footage is a combination from my trip, as well as US government reels that were filmed directly after the war ended. The ending is a small clip of Winston Churchill addressing England directly after the German surrender.
Like every historical site in Europa, my monopod was prohibited, which made it nearly impossible to shot steady handheld shots. Thankfully, lock and load and smoothcam with FCP made it possible to stabilize some of the footage in post.
