over the past 5 years, our team has been able to capture some of the most breathtaking images along with telling some of the most captivating stories we could have ever hoped for. we've been so blessed to have been given this opportunity and we're so stoked to see where we are going from here.

this film challenges those who view to see things outside the box. to go places you've never been and do things you have always been afraid to do. as someone who grew up in rural indiana, my world was very small. it wasn't until i took a leap of faith and moved 5000 miles away to honolulu that my world began to open up. i was part of a completely different culture...and i embraced it all.

having lived in hawaii for over ten years changed my life. it opened up more opportunities to see even more of the world. i've been able to travel to around 20 countries through the amazing opportunities fisheye studio has opened for me, and it's just the beginning.

as we continue to evolve as a company, we welcome in new types of stories to tell. besides weddings, we've filmed everything from sports, to celebrations halfway across the world, and for commercial clients such as Apple and Queen's Medical Group.

the next story is the greatest...and we can't wait to tell yours!

becca + chris // worth the wait

becca + chris // worth the wait from Fisheye Studio on Vimeo.

you have to admire tenacity.  those who do not easily accept no for an answer, for their reward is that much sweeter in the end.  and so it was with chris and becca.  at first, becca was not easily impressed by chris, the dashing navy gentleman.  but over time, as she saw all his true colors, he was able to convince her that he was indeed worth her time.

a south carolina wedding film // emily + clark

while traveling out east last summer, i was contacted by an old high school mate about filming her wedding. i've known emily since she was barely able to walk from our days in church and school together, and her parents have known me since i was crawling around in my diapers. plus, who could resist the chance to film at such a unique wedding location.

the ceremony was at the cliffs glassy chapel in the upper western region of south carolina. this was the first wedding where i was able to break out the DJI phantom quadcopter. while i didn't have the best stabilizer on it at the time, i was able to pull through some breathtaking images.

this was such a beautiful and fun wedding to shoot. special mahalo to:

the same day edit of jer + riss

jer + riss are a couple who makes it easy for us.  one is a UH fan, the other USC.  one is very competitive (riss) while the other just likes to fish (jer)  and whether it's bbq'ing, in vegas, or riding the rapids in the grand canyon, there are plenty of friends to be around.

in fact, they had 10 bridesmaids and groomsmen apiece!  and that was a challenge to narrow it down to just that many.

had some fun with some aerial shots (dji phantom quadcopter).  not all the footage comes out great, especially with any wind, but it does bring such a cool element to the film.

love is blind | SDE | brian + jeanelle

as is the case with all of our couples, we always want to know 'their story'. what is it about them that stands apart? every couple has it...although it's up to us to dig deep to bring out what's interesting and unique about them as people, so we can best capture and tell it through our films.

with brian + jeanelle, the choice was obvious. brian is blind. he's not always been that way, though. stricken with glaucoma at the age of 21, he's lost all of his vision in one eye, and about 85% in the other. most people would be unable to cope with that malady, but not only has brian been able to do so, he's thrived. now a motivational speaker, brian is able to inspire thousands with his message, and along with jeanelle by his side, together they've formed an amazing relationship.

brian also talks about how even though he lost his sight, he never lost his vision. he's been able to grow as a person, and to value what matters in a person.
so, in that sense, love really isn't blind. when you see someone for who they really are, it's not a foolish choice. it's a decision based on what is on someone's inside.

this is their story.

------

we broke out the first aerial shots for a same day edit. we shot some back in june for a wedding in south carolina, but haven't got that one edited yet. (STAY TUNED) the phantom is a nice element to add and i believe will make a major impact on wedding films in the future.
